Richard decided to change his ski for 2005, previously riding a Seadoo RX. He only took part in a couple of the winter series round concentrating on helping Karen.

Karen bought her Kawasaki STXR in 2005 5 days before Round 1 of the British Championships 2005. Previously she rode Richard's Ski in the winter series 2005, where she finished a respectable 6th overall.

As soon as the British championships began not only would there be a battle for the finish line but a battle for domestic chores too. Richard and Karen will be competed in the Novice Runabout class together as well as the Veteran Runabout class.

Karen threw down the gauntlet if she could beat Richard he would have to make tea that week.
